Review

The Ritual is a really good thriller that does a good job of being scary. The movie starts with a tense and atmospheric story, featuring a solid cast with Rafe Spall, Arsher Ali, Robert James-Collier, and Sam Troughton, who all give strong performances that make this horror journey unforgettable. Following the death of a friend, some guys go on a hiking tour to Sweden. The events take an increasing turn for darkness once they become lost in the woods, with them finding something a lot worse than what they previously believed. Each one adds something different: Rafe Spall is the reluctant leader, while Arsher Ali brings a subtle anxiety, Robert James-Collier a mysterious vibe, and Sam Troughton adds some depth to the dynamic of the group. it is filled with suspense and just a complete combination of horror and natural emotions. Also, the eeriness of the setting contributes a lot to the chilling atmosphere. There's just tension everywhere to keep you at the edge of your seat. A balance between psychological horror and physical fear keeps you guessing until the very end-an experience so unsettling. Having said that, it still has several issues: the development of a number of the characters and an unconvincing storyline. Also, some would consider the first half pace very sluggish. Despite this minor issue, however, the movie still turns out to be a must-watch for every horror lover because it can also keep you fully engaged and disturbed.
