A detailed review and rating of the latest thriller!
Smile 2 is a rather upsetting sequel to the mediocre horror movie smile that came out in 1. It starts off in the middle of everything, with almost no connection to Smile 1 other than the "smile" condition or whatever it's called. From there the plot continues, but as a watcher you are always uncertain if the scene is something the main character is dreaming (fake reality) or if it's actually a real part of the story, the movie does a really bad job at explaining what's fake and what's not. The movie feels almost forced, because let's be honest the first smile movie wasn't anything spectacular, it was nothing more than an okay horror movie to kill time.
Well smile 2 falls even lower than that, i wouldn't recommend watching it even to just kill time, the plot is poorly written and doesn't really make much sense or is scary in a psychological way.
The so-called scary jumpscares and gore in the movie are extremely subtle, and are poorly done as well. If you want real gore horror go watch terrifier and if you want good jumpscares go watch Insidious.
